Stop treating yourself like a slave

Fold the washing when it’s devotional,

don’t fold the washing when it’s avoidance.

Do the dishes when it’s devotional,

don’t do the dishes when you’re proving how much you’re not allowed to rest.

Pick up after everyone when it’s devotional,

don’t pick up after everyone when your mindset is ‘I’m a slave’.

Clean the house when it’s devotional,

don’t clean the house when it’s rage-cleaning.

Clean the floors when it’s devotional,

don’t clean the floors to keep your walls up.

It’s not the life you live that makes you a slave.

It’s the mindset you bring.
