Should we start couples counselling… or do I begin on my own?
If you’re here, something in your relationship isn’t working the way it used to.
You might still love each other deeply…
but feel disconnected, flat, or caught in cycles you can’t seem to shift.
And somewhere in all of that, this question lands:
Do we do this together… or do I start on my own?
When couples counselling works best
Couples work creates powerful change when:
-
both people are open to self-reflection
-
there’s a willingness to take responsibility
-
you’re both wanting to shift the dynamic - not just explain it
-
there’s still a thread of care, hope, or desire
When two people are willing to say: "I can see my part in this”
That’s where the work becomes transformative.
When you’re the one leading this
In many relationships, one person feels the disconnection more acutely.
They’re the one searching.
The one wanting more.
The one holding the vision for what the relationship could be.
That’s not a flaw.
That’s awareness.
And it’s often where change begins.
More often than not, you’re the more feminine-essence partner -
naturally attuned to the undercurrent of the relationship.
You feel when something’s off.
You notice the disconnection before it’s spoken.
The one who becomes the caretaker of how the relationship feels.
When individual work is the right place to start
If your partner isn’t ready, unsure, or resistant - you don’t have to wait.
Individual sessions are not a lesser option.
They’re often where the deepest shifts begin.
This is where we:
-
reconnect you to yourself
-
unpack the patterns you’re carrying
-
shift how you respond, communicate, and relate
-
rebuild your sense of self within the relationship
And when that changes… the dynamic shifts.
How I work
I’m not a “stay in the story” kind of practitioner.
I work with change and momentum.
That means we’re not just unpacking what’s happening -
we’re actively shifting what’s underneath it.
For couples, I structure the first sessions intentionally - booking three sessions ahead, spaced two weeks apart - so we build traction and don’t stay stuck in the same loops.
Your next step
You don’t need to have the whole answer right now.
You just need the next step
→ Book a free 15-minute call and let’s get clear on your next step
Your partner can also book a call if they want to feel into whether this is right for them.
It’s a space to feel into whether this is the right fit -
and whether I can help you get from where you are to where you want to be.
